<p>Have you lost your sparkle and enthusiasm for what you do?</p>
<p>If so, here are five things you can do today:</p>
<p><strong>1. </strong><strong>Get fit – and stay fit!</strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p>Find some time each day to <span id="more-316"></span>take some form of <a class="zem_slink" title="Aerobic exercise" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerobic_exercise">aerobic exercise</a> – a brisk walk, a swim or cycle ride. Build this into your daily routine as you will need plenty of energy to stay motivated. Eat healthily and make sure you make time for proper meals, especially at work. Take time away from your desk at lunchtime, even if it’s only half an hour; you will be more productive and thus more motivated when you return to your desk.</p>
<p><strong>2. </strong><strong>Remind yourself of your goals:</strong></p>
<p>Ensure you have clearly stated written goals and action plans with deadlines. Each day make sure you are doing something to move you towards where you want to be. Remind yourself constantly of these goals. Develop a strong desire to attain those goals. Your <a class="zem_slink" title="Subconscious" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subconscious">subconscious mind</a> will steer your daily activities and action towards attaining these goals. If you know what you want and want it strongly enough, then you will easily identify opportunities which will enable you to achieve your key objectives.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>3. </strong><strong>Do activities that you enjoy:</strong></p>
<p>Find some activities that give you real pleasure. Do things that excite you and allow your talents to shine. This makes you feel good about yourself and promotes positive emotions. When you enjoy what you do, you tend to excel and succeed easily. And with each success, your <a class="zem_slink" title="Self-esteem" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-esteem">self-esteem</a> grows and motivates you to greater heights. You will enjoy even more of that particular activity. Suddenly, you feel that success comes<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>4. </strong><strong>Build a motivational base</strong></p>
<p>Read or listen to motivational material daily. Go to the nearest library or bookstore and find yourself some inspirational material. A well-written book that offers sound advice is more motivating than reading about the latest most horrific stories or market declines. Alternatively, forget reading if you have no time. Use audio. Audio is really great to listen to because you can also be doing something else while you are listening to it. Just spend half hour everyday listening to motivational tapes or CD’s in your car or while working out at the gym.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>5. </strong><strong>Give yourself a performance review:</strong></p>
<p>Give yourself a performance review. Reflect on your growth and performance, whether through a formal process or on an ad hoc basis. Be honest with yourself about your strengths and weaknesses and what you should focus on in the coming year. And then be prepared to take action! All the <a class="zem_slink" title="Motivation" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motivation">motivation</a> in the world will not help unless you actually get up and<strong> DO SOMETHING!</strong></p>
<p>By regularly reviewing your actions against your goals you will gain a proper perspective on the progress you are making which will increase your motivation.</p>

<p>Once the Development Programme has been completed the one-to-one coaching sessions begin. And then the energy really starts to build. These begin with the focus on the organisational objective. Each participant is taken though the Structured Coaching Framework <span id="more-247"></span>thoroughly and generates three key goals that they believe they can successfully achieve.</p>
<p>Each of the remaining coaching sessions works with the coachee to eliminate every limiting factor that would or could stop each goal from being successfully realised. The limiting factors are all that stand between success and failure. No limiting factor means no failure. By the end of the Dynamic Coaching process all goals will have been achieved.</p>
<p>The Development DNA of the tailored, themed and linked development modules is then entwined with a highly structured and focused coaching programme of 12 one hour sessions &#8211; usually run every three weeks.</p>
<p>Dynamic coaching guarantees that a managers development turns into tangible results quickly. This seriously embeds the skills and strategies learnt during the Development Programme. And importantly it continues to feed the motivation and focus created during the development module stage.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s where two powerful strands of carefully designed development programmes are interwoven and applied with a focused and structured process. Development DNA is the key building block to<span id="more-235"></span> all of The Growth Dynamic&#8217;s programmes.</p>
<p>Firstly the development programme runs on<!--more--> two main processes. Those two processes are a forward and reflective linking development programme that is designed around the theme of key proven priniciples. This works in a number of ways and on a number of levels at the same time creating the effect of accelerated learning.</p>
<p>The principles that are themed throughout the programme and integrated within the individual modules are the <strong>7 Habits of Highly Effective People</strong> by Dr Stephen Covey.</p>
<p>Accelerated learning and dynamic growth are achievable with The Growth Dynamic development programmes. The 7 Habits are key priniciples of effective living and working. These principles are integrated into each of the development programme modules and factored into the workplace tasks that need to actioned between modules.</p>
<p>Each module then starts with a detailed review of the learnings from the previous module and the actions that were worked on in order to create better working habits for improved performance and results.</p>
<p>The rest of the module then takes each participant through key strategies that will build on the skills previously learnt and links forward to the &#8216;between module&#8217; work based tasks and the next module.</p>

You find you spend longer maintaining your list than you do doing it?</p>
<p>If that sounds all too familiar, here are five things you can do today.<span id="more-219"></span></p>
<h3><strong>1. </strong><strong>Know what you need to do:</strong></h3>
<p>Prioritise by identifying the most important things you need to achieve this quarter, month, week and day. Decide what tasks or projects are crucial to your success and plan times in your diary to do them.</p>
<p>Put only what you want to achieve<em> today</em> on your current to do list. Having a list detailing everything you want to get done will just overload you and cause you to find reasons to avoid starting work on anything as the task seem too momentous.</p>
<h3><strong>2. </strong><strong>Know how you are going to do it:</strong></h3>
<p>Break projects into small manageable chunks. Firstly work on elements that will take you more time to complete and make sure the remaining things will take less time.</p>
<p>If you leave the longest parts for later you are more likely to run out of steam before the end of the day.</p>
<h3><strong>3. </strong><strong>Know what approach you need to take:</strong></h3>
<p>Each day make it your first task to tackle whatever it is on your list that gives you that horrible sinking feeling when you think about doing it.</p>
<p>By doing the thing you dread most you will start the day with a feeling of achievement and you day will only get better as you proceed to work on things that you find much more enjoyable.</p>

<h3><strong>4. </strong><strong>Know when to do it:</strong></h3>
<p>Give yourself fifteen minutes to focus on the first task on your list without interruption. Ignore telephones, e-mails, texts and visitors by blocking out time in your diary.</p>
<p>Let whoever needs to know that you are unobtainable. Once the first fifteen minutes is up you have a choice: continue with the task in hand, or move onto the next thing on your list. Chances are you’ll feel that you are getting somewhere and will want to continue with the task in hand.</p>
<p>Worst case scenario, you will at least have reduced the total time needed for this project by fifteen minutes and can follow the same process again tomorrow. At some point this task will be completed, even if you only work on it fifteen minutes at a time! Make your mantra “just do it &#8211; now!”</p>
<h3><strong>5. </strong><strong>Know what to do to celebrate your successes:</strong></h3>
<p>Give yourself a reward for completing each batch of three things on your “to do” list. Grab a coffee, have a chat with a colleague or take a walk around the block.</p>
<p>Just take a moment for yourself to breathe and refocus. You’ll be amazed at just how much you can achieve if you follow these simple steps.</p>
